First of all, here, send some greetings to my darling:
.. 2.. 3.. *collective awww* :D Smart cat, she figured out how to do the tilt-head-down-look-up pose so her eyes look bigger and face smaller, all by herself.
Do I hear "more please?" You shall see random pics of Latti throughout this post, just cos she's so kyute.
Anyway, today I was out with some church friends and we went to lunch at the most horrible Macau cafe at Eastwood. Please do not ever visit that place. I've had bad experiences there before with poor service and badly made food, and usually when I give in and decide to let a restaurant have a second chance to redeem themselves, I find myself regretting and affirming to myself to never, ever to go back *cough wagamama cough*.
This was the service they gave us at the table. A handful of cutleries scattered, just like that, in the middle of the table, while he set up the table next to ours which was -get this- empty! That's right, no one was sitting there and he bothered to place the cutleries neatly.
Digress. The story starts when we headed off to Mado at Auburn for some Turkish dessert.
As a form of habit, I took out Stanley'95 and started snapping pictures of everyone...
... and everything.
After ordering and when the waiter was bringing out the food and drinks....
... he smiled happily at us and said something along the lines of not many Asians go to that cafe and he was dying to tell us a joke that goes something along the lines of this:
In this world, Jews, Indians and Asians are arguably the most stingy races out of everyone else. Imagine there was a shop selling some goods at quite a high price. Three people walk past each day- a Jew, an Indian and an Asian. The Jew will always walk right past without even going into the shop, whereas the Indian will walk right in, browse around before walking out without buying anything.
The Asian? Well, he'd walk in, take a look around, whip out his camera and start taking photos everywhere. He'll go out of the shop without buying anything, return home and send the photos to his pals in China and tell them, "Guys, manufacture these! They're really popular here but so expensive! We can produce them cheap and make it big!"
The waiter then said when he saw us holding cameras taking photos of everything and everyone, he was reminded of the joke and just had to tell it to us.
Furrrryyyyy~~
Never encountered a waiter that tells jokes (and of course, we weren't offended. I assured him I wasn't going to send my photos to China, and he knows we can't reproduce Maras ice cream and Kazandibi with pictures).
Kazandibi is my favourite pudding~ love the burnt skin on the top with cinnamon.
Super sweet baklava and other variations with Maras ice cream.
Didn't really require fork and knife~ but the texture is slightly different to normal ice cream.
Cay tea (Turkish tea). Trust me when I say you should order something bitter to drink, or anything that isn't sweet. Cay tea is one of the better choices for drink when having desserts as sweet as baklava.
Sour's not too bad too~ but the sourness will intensify as you eat the sweet stuff :D
Such a diva =_=
My mum was standing overhead and talking to her. That's it, Latti is the new Maru Desu~!
